FAQ

A dog standing on a mountain trail with a view of forested hills and rocky cliffs under a clear blue sky in Colorado

That cord looks tiny, how strong is the leash?

The cord is made from Dyneema, which has 10 times the strength of steel but is light enough to float on water. The cord we use has a test strength of 540 lbs. To attach the cord at the handle and collar, a technique called splicing is employed which ensures the full strength of the cord is maintained. This is far stronger than knots or clamping and is the optimal method for end attachment of ropes and cords.

Can my leash be repaired if it were somehow damaged?

If you somehow damage your leash (which wold be pretty difficult) we can replace any component or supply you with the parts and instructions if you like to do that sort of thing.

Can my dog wear this in the water?

Yes, all of the components are rated for water exposure. However oiling is recommended after repeated water exposure to keep everything running smoothly. See the Maintenance section for instructions. If the leash is submerged in salt water we recommend rinsing it out, see the Maintenance page for help.
